The House …

 

The house itself is modern, centrally heated and very comfortable with a spectacular view of the sea.  It has a telephone and lots of books.  There’s an extensive area around the house for children to play safely in and it’s also within a few minutes walk of beaches.

Accommodation...

 

There’s a reasonably sized sitting room, a fairly big well equipped kitchen / dining room, a bathroom with a toilet and shower (no bath), a utility/boiler room with a toilet and washbasin and washing machine, and the following sleeping possibilities:  two double bedrooms; a single room with bunk beds; a spacious attic room with a double futon and a double bed.

The Place ….

 

Rosbeg is a small townland of about 40 cottages in west Donegal.  It’s on the coast, north of Glencolumkille and south of Dungloe.  The nearest towns are Ardara and Glenties – both about 12 kilometres away - Donegal Town and Letterkenny about 40 kilometres away.

     

Rosbeg has several safe sandy beaches and a friendly pub.  A car is essential as the nearest - very well stocked – shop and post office is 5 kilometres away in Portnoo / Naran, which also has a golf course.

How to get there …

 

Rosbeg is a three hour drive from the coast at Larne in Northern Ireland if you’re coming by boat from England / Scotland and crossing from Stranraer or Cairnryan.  It’s about a 5 hour drive from Dublin.

      

The nearest airport is Donegal International Airport at Carrickfin with flights from Dublin and Glasgow.  Other possibilities are flying to Derry, Belfast, Shannon, Knock or Galway and hiring a car.
